School Bells!

School Bells! I was glad for a chance to catch up and do something with the photos of my daughter from the first day of school, along with her second grade school photo. What could be more fun to work with than a mini-album made with acrylic and chipboard bells from Accent Scrapbooking (see link at top of my page.) At first I wasn't sure what to take on with the bells, but was quite inspired at doing a school themed mini-album! To start with, I used gold alcohol ink on the acrylic bell, just around the edges so that the first designed bell shows through. Each bell is covered with paper and then distressed on the edges with brown ink. On the acrylic frame I used lettuce and copper alcohol inks, along with some walnut colored distressing ink (all Tim Holtz). Green button brads were added to the flowers. On the small bell, I used Tim Holtz distressing embossing powder to give it a "rusty" look. To top it off I added a colored ring and a variety of fibers. I also gave the back page a small pocket, where I plan to add a reduced sized copy of my daughter's report card, and any other important little momentos that we collect through the year. I also plan to add her teacher and school names to the project. I had a lot of fun with the bell theme, and with incorporating the other elements into the project as well.

Scrapbook Pages

Starting with a passion for photography, that passion soon combined with my love for crafting, so scrapbooking was a natural next step for me. That was ten years ago. Today, although not exclusively a scrapbooker, this hobby is an obsession for me. I have included just a small sampling of the pages I have designed below. I will continue to add more as time allows!

Christmas Cards

Another of my interests is cardmaking. Here are a few photos of Holiday Cards I made recently! I used my Cricut machine and several of my Cricut cartridges to create the "tag" card, along with various fibers and some embossing.
On the snowman card, I used Versamark ink to stamp the snowflakes, and then chalked over them to add color and a soft effect. On the snowman itself, and inside the card I stamped white craft ink onto navy blue paper. I then added fibers to the card.

Altered Cigar Tin Gallery

Hi! I recently started altertering cigar tins. I have had a great time altering these tins, using a number of materials. I started out covering them with newspaper, then distressing and decorating them. I moved on to plain or printed papers, and using a combination of inking, stamping, distressing, and chalking among other things, as I began to further develop my designs. All of the tins feature 3-D design elements. They really are a lot of fun! I have attached a number of photos below. Enjoy!
